Training Courses and aircraft
In Sweden, we offer intensive training courses designed to maximize your flying during the period you are with us.
We normally aim to fly 2 or 3 hours per day (weather permitting) but it all depends on the individual student.
Training is undertaken from two airfields: Orsa Tallhed (ESNR) – the largest grass airfield in Scandinavia with a 1000m tarmac runway for good measure, and Siljan Airpark (ESVS) the site of a new and growing airpark in a beautiful setting close to Lake Siljan.
Sea training is undertaken mainly on Lake Orsa (10 km) and Lake Siljan (50km) which offer almost unlimited seaplane flying opportunities.
With regard to sea training, a seaplane (microlight) rating can be added to the 'old' UK microlight PPL, or differences training can be undertaken for the NPPL(M). The latter does not require a GST, but apart from that the training is identical.
Anna Markey regularly undertakes trips overseas, starting or finishing in Sweden. In 2006 she flew her DTA 2-stroke trike from Orsa Tallhed to Sandown on the IOW. (and back) for the annual ‘Spamfield’ fly-in, with student pilot Paul McNamee.
Fancy doing this? Why not contact Anna Markey directly if you would like the opportunity to take part in a longer trip for navigation experience and training
